Solid Anti-Age Serum with Bakuchiol
What is Bakuchiol?
Bakuchiol is a naturally occurring plant-derived ingredient obtained primarily from the seeds of Psoralea corylifolia. Although it has a different chemical structure from retinol, research has shown that bakuchiol can produce retinol-like effects on the skin.
A 12-week randomized, double-blind clinical study involving 44 participants found that topical bakuchiol improved the appearance of wrinkles and hyperpigmentation similarly to retinol, while being better tolerated by the participants in the study.
Bakuchiol is therefore an interesting botanical ingredient for anti-ageing skincare, particularly for those looking for an alternative to retinol.
Why we chose Bakuchiol
Our Solid Anti-Age Serum combines bakuchiol with a carefully selected blend of botanical oils, butters and plant extracts.
The formulation is designed to nourish, soften and condition the skin while supporting a smoother, more even-looking complexion.
The serum is completely solid and highly concentrated, making it particularly practical for travel. There is no need for a separate toner or cream — simply apply a small amount directly to the face and décolletage.
The botanical oils & essential oils
The ingredients in this serum were selected for both their cosmetic properties and their sensory qualities. The result is a rich but elegant combination of nourishing plant oils, botanical extracts and carefully chosen essential oils.
West Indian Sandalwood
West Indian Sandalwood (Amyris balsamifera) essential oil has a warm, woody aroma and is widely used in perfumery. Its aromatic profile adds depth and warmth to the serum, while its traditional use in skin care is associated with soothing and conditioning properties.
Bergamot
Bergamot essential oil has a fresh, elegant citrus aroma and is valued for its antioxidant and antimicrobial properties. Its bright character creates a beautiful contrast with the richer botanical oils in the serum.
The bergamot oil used in this formulation is bergapten-free.
Geranium Bourbon
Geranium Bourbon is highly valued in perfumery for its rich floral aroma, reminiscent of rose.
In cosmetics, geranium essential oil is traditionally used for its balancing and skin-conditioning properties, making it a natural complement to a nourishing facial serum.
Sweet Orange
Sweet orange essential oil adds a fresh, warm citrus note to the formulation. It is valued for its antioxidant properties and is widely used in natural perfumery and skin care.
Benzoin
Benzoin (Styrax tonkinensis) is used in the formulation as a warm, balsamic aromatic ingredient. Its rich, vanilla-like character adds softness and depth to the fragrance while complementing the citrus and woody essential oils.
How to use
Warm a small amount of the serum between your fingertips and gently massage into clean, dry skin of the face and décolletage.
A little goes a long way. Allow the serum to melt into the skin and enjoy the nourishing finish.
For best results, use regularly as part of your evening skincare routine.
Precautions: For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes.
